Hades finds her in the crowd, and with little warning suddenly spins her around and kisses her. A dramatic lover's kiss, and he looks inordinately pleased with himself as he pulls back.
It's hard to fathom with how much she loves to flirt, but Irhya has never looked quite so scandalized in her life. It takes her too much time to process what's happening to properly reciprocate -- and truth be told, her first instinct, far before the blank confusion, is to double back and knee her would-be attacker in the stomach.
But she doesn't do that, clamps down on the impulse before it can come to fruition. She's still wide-eyed and uncomprehending even as she slips an arm around his back, eventually parting for breath and staring at him, her face a complicated shade of red.
"What-- What was that for?! I thought you were still annoyed with me!"
One snowy day, there comes a knock at Irhya's door. Standing on the threshold is one reluctant Ascian with a small plastic gift bag of cookies in one hand. He holds said bag out to her as soon as she opens the door.
"Here," he says without any preamble. "Felih and I made these."
Irhya blinks, registering the sight in front of her, then puts on a smug smirk, taking the bag in one hand.
"Awkward as ever, I see. Nobody ever taught you about how to give gifts for Starlight, did they?" For all her teasing, though, her smile seems genuine enough. "Nevertheless, thank you for thinking of me. If you'd like to come inside for a bit, I have something for you, too."
That would be because Garleans didn't care for Starlight, he thinks to himself as he follows her inside.
"I would remind you that I don't intend to make this a yearly habit," he grumbles. Indeed, if not for Felih's enthusiasm, he probably would have stayed in his room and slept the days away. "Why did you bother getting me another gift?"
Irhya's behaviour weighs on his mind. She has been notably distant towards him in recent days. Is it truly out of jealousy, as Hythlodaeus claims, or something more? The uncertainty eats away at him until he decides that he'll confront her and have the answers directly from her lips. He waits until his friend has gone out for the day before heading over to Irhya's room. The last thing he wants is for Hythlodaeus to overhear his relationship woes.
She's not in her room, however. Biting his lip, he thinks about all the possible places she may be at within Camelot and then heads out to search for her. He can only pray that she is still within the city somewhere and not out on a quest.
Once he does manage to find her, he calls out.
"Irhya. Irhya! May I have a word with you? In private."
She's just getting off shopping for provisions, carrying a few bags in her hands when he intercepts her. Odd... whatever it is, it must be something of import if he went outside just to find her. Or was he already out, and just took the opportunity to track her down in the meantime? It's hard to tell.
Either way, still odd coming from him.
"Eh? Um, sure," Irhya says, expression neutral. "Walk back with me? I need to go put these away before I do anything else, anyway."
[ Irhya receives a small box one day, delivered by someone from reception once she's noted to have returned to her room. Inside, she'll discover a pair of identical silver earrings: a tiny pearl connected by a link of chain to a dark blue gemstone cut in a way that's reminiscent of their native aetherytes.
There's a small note with it. ]
Irhya,
I am led to believe one may enchant jewellery with magic. I hope you will be able to make use of these and ward yourself from harm. If the cut of the gemstones are clumsy that is entirely my doing.
[To herself, she imagines he probably just needs to blow off steam. She did see his comment to Eivor, after all. So she packs her blade on her back and looks around when she reaches the edge of the forest for anyone familiar.]
[ When she finds him, she also finds a swathe of destruction littered about his chosen sparring spot. Makeshift 'dummies' made of straw or sticks or literally anything easily cut to pieces that he could find on short notice. He's breathing hard, and it's clear it hasn't been enough to calm him down. ]
I am tired of watching you things destroy yourselves, each other, and the stars you live upon.
[ This hissed out when he hears her approach. He doesn't turn. ]
[Irhya blinks. That's... impressive. And so quickly!]
Wow. Give her a treat for me, will you?
It should be plenty for now. I'll have to see how long I can make it last, but once I know, I'll have a better idea of how much I'll need in the future.
Of course, if you should want them, I'll give you free dibs on mock-ups and the like. I'd just have to size whatever I'm working on to your proportions.
That so? Guess we better get you something new, then! Much as I would love to make some for you, it takes a while, so I'm just as happy going to shop for them.
Meet me... hmm, at my place, I guess. We'll take a walk and see what we can find.
[That's a message alright from Emet-Selch's phone, but it's not a message at all. It seems like his phone has sent just a location. And she wouldn't be the only one getting it.]
Hey there Irhya, good day. This is Noah LeClair. I have a question. I know you can make things but, what else can you make? Specifically, do you do anykind of woodwork?
Hi! I've been deep in my smithing lately, but yes, I do have to do some woodworking with that for handles and such, so I'd say I'm capable of it. Did you have something you needed done?

"Humour me. These devices can transfer physical sensation, it seems. Hythlodaeus deserves it after all these years."

[He knows a store where he can get her some juicy crickets.]
I'd also be glad for any mock-ups you do. I ended up turning my little experiment into a bracelet.
[He holds up his wrist and shows the crude braid he did wrapped around it.]
