Hey there Irhya, good day. This is Noah LeClair. I have a question. I know you can make things but, what else can you make? Specifically, do you do anykind of woodwork?
Hi! I've been deep in my smithing lately, but yes, I do have to do some woodworking with that for handles and such, so I'd say I'm capable of it. Did you have something you needed done?
I do. Though it is not native to my world, I've seen them many times in others. I'm guessing you want one? I've done stringed instruments before, since my sister is a musician.
I was worried for a moment, I thought I'd have to somehow describe a guitar - but aye, I'd like a guitar. I've got a bunch of free time all of a sudden so rather than spend that time staring at the wall, maybe music would keep me occupied and entertained. How much would it cost me?
I guess I can give you the new customer discount, since I like you and all. If you break it, though, it's gonna be more than before, all right? I'll figure out materials and labor and see what I can do.
Aww thanks a million! I'd appreciate it, I promise I won't break it.
[ Would kind of defeat the purpose of requesting a special guitar only to break it. ]
I should try to keep up being likeable then, shouldn't I? When it's done, how about I sing you a little something from my world? I promise I'm a good singer.
Oh, that'd be lovely. That can account for the part I'm not charging you, then. Any particular paint job or design you want on it?
...Annnnnnd if you don't mind, care to let me try it out, too? I'm more than a little rusty with strings, but I've played a lute before, and I know they're pretty similar.
You can come straight to my place if you want. Do forgive that it's in a state of perpetual mess, though... it's reflective of my creative drive at the moment, I suppose.
[Included is an address! It's a small house, and as she stated, the inside when she lets him in appears to be in a state of controlled chaos; the table in the living room is cluttered with myriad unfinished objects. Fortunately, the rest is actually quite neatly kept!]
[ Creative drive is a word for it. He stepped in carefully, making sure not to knock anything over as he moved. It reminds him of Max's room, filled with all sorts of things and doodads he's unsure what they're supposed to be. ]
I'm pretty good! I tried to clean up a little, but... it is what it is for now, I suppose.
[She sighs and shakes her head; this is not a new phenomenon, but she never seems to be able to tame the mess before it can accumulate.]
Anyway, I've got your guitar. You might need to tune it a little since I'm not confident in my ability to do it by ear, though.
[She reaches over and pulls the guitar from where it sits on the couch, presenting it to him. The front face is painted black, but the rest appears to be like any acoustic guitar.]
[ He smiles and nods politely understanding that, just like his friend, cleaning is a mountain on its own.
The surprise was clear on his face as was the admiration and just how impressed he was. A simple but elegant guitar. Just want he likes. ]
This is amazing, I mean I didn't doubt your skill but- wow!
[ He picked it up and plucked at the strings, making a tuning adjustments before playing a few chords, then he sits on the couch inviting her to sit with him to play her a song just as he promised. ]
[Irhya's ears perk up attentively. She watches his fingers on the frets, forgetting about her concerns over its sound. He seems satisfied with it, and it seems to be in-tune now...]
That's pretty catchy. I'm going to be humming that to myself for a while, undoubtedly.
[Her tail thumps against the cushions, stimulated by the creative flow.]
[ He leans lightly against the guitar once he's done, feeling plenty satisfied with himself. ]
I learned from Isaiah. He's my leader and my teacher, in a lot of things. He said "every guy has to know to how play" without so much as rhyme or logical reason to.
[ He took in a small breath and started to pluck at the strings. ]
And so I learned, accepting that nonsense reason. The kids like it a lot so, that gave me more motivation to get better. Sister Nette was the one who taught me how to sing though, Isaiah was rubbish at that.

[A pause between replies.]

As for the design, something simple would be alright. Main focus of the instrument is the sound after all.

[Of course, after maybe about a week's timeskip...]
Heeeeeey where are you? I've got something for you! And it sounds lovely, at least in my opinion, but perhaps I should ask the expert to make sure?

[ He wasn't expecting it to be done soon, so when the call came a week later the surprise was pleasant and rather impressive. ]
Sure, I'll be right over. Where should I meet you?

Afternoon, torch. How're you doing?
[ Other than being always in need of a broom. ]

Where'd you learn?
