Class/Job

Pre-2.0, Irhya studied to be a conjurer in preparation to become an adventurer a little before the time of the Calamity. She proved to be more apt at it than any of her siblings were with most magic (except her younger sister, but really, it'd be a lie to say that one cared about anything other than making things burn as a thaumaturge).

At the beginning of 2.0, she was still a conjurer, though grew bored with it incredibly quickly. Because white mages are so rare in the lore, she never quite made it that far, but was... obviously decent enough to kill primals? Well then.

By the beginning of 3.0, upon arriving in Ishgard, she changed over to dark knight at the first opportunity -- because of Fray's compelling case, and because the less savory part of her that also cried boredom at the ways of the conjurer leapt with joy at the thought of something a little more thrilling.

Dark knights spend their body's aether in battle with Darkside as sort of a mortgage arrangement with the abyss, and the only way to keep from killing oneself in the process is to learn how to recharge that aether, through the body's sensory input or through trace amounts of aether released via the blood of an enemy. Grit helps anchor a dark knight's emotions down, and reduces external sensory input to keep them stable during battle. Meanwhile, Living Dead outright severs that sensory input, both pain and pleasure alike -- it's incredibly dangerous to do so for obvious reasons, and requires the touch of a truly skilled healer to restore enough bodily function for the user not to succumb to their wounds in short order.

Crafting

In order of skill and enjoyment levels:

  • Weaver (her specialty, and most enjoyed field)
  • Culinarian
  • Blacksmith
  • Goldsmith (detail work is her jam)
  • Leatherworker
  • Alchemist
  • Armorer (doesn't like to use heavy armor herself, so generally ignores this in favor of blacksmithing)
  • Carpenter (not a lot of interest in woodworking beyond Eorzean furniture DIY)

Beyond these, she also writes and draws as the mood strikes her. She's not much of a gatherer, however, and prefers to acquire her materials with gil rather than go out and retrieve them herself.

Family

Mother: Shura Pendhula. Artisan by trade and breadwinner of the family; deceased. Subject to intense mood swings, with very high highs and very low lows. Epithet: Shura the Automata, for the speed at which she was capable of completing commissions.
Father: Rivka'a Moshroca. An easygoing gladiator, if a little bit of a flirt and a jokester. Currently lives in Gridania.

Older sister: Shia (29). Bard, teaches music in Hyrstmill. Also taught her siblings how to sing and play instruments. Widowed as of about a year after the Calamity. Epithet: Shia the Concordant.
Younger sister: Azahka (17). Thaumaturge. Very intense personality, if a little spoiled and demanding. Epithet: Azahka of the Vivid Red.
Younger brother: Shura'a (14). Unclassed, sort of unassuming, and has little interest in combat. Looks up to Irhya's adventures, though tends to cling closer to Azahka's overbearing personality. Kind of a doormat.
